Static converter DCB1.0
SDB specialists in collaboration with Czech company «Di-Elcom» elaborated a static converter. A regenerative braking converter provides:
- Braking effort control by means of the preset algorithm, with noncontacting automatic control;
- Reduction of power consumption due to smooth regulation;
- Reliability enhancement due to application of microprocessor control system and diagnostics, which allows to reveal in time a locomotive circuit failure and analyze processes before and after the failure.
Inverter part of converters is made on IGBT-transistors with microprocessor control. The converter has a diagnostic system, which detects operation troubles in proper time and informs a driver about them, and a built-in ventilating system.
The converter is made with intermediate a.c. with output voltage regulation at the primary transformer side and with two uncontrollable rectifiers, each of them being oriented for power supply of series windings of two traction motor main poles. Conversion frequency is 13 kHz. The output voltage is 2X20kW. The converter weight is 375 kg.
Excitation current is regulated smoothly, by means of changing IGBT transistor opening angle with application of a synchro, which is being turned from the controller brake lever. Antiexcitation coefficient is – 0,3.
